Abstract

Currently, the SR 247 Connector is a four-lane roadway with a depressed 44 foot median going from the western limits of the project, at SR 11/US 41 to Houston Lake Road. Between Houston Lake Road and Hawkinsville Road (US 129/SR 247), the existing roadway has four through lanes and a 3enter turn lane. The proposed project would construct a raised median along the entire project length. Turn lanes and expanded turning radii would also be included at several locations. The project limits on the SR 247 Connector extend from SR 11 to the roadway's intersection with Hawkinsville Road (US 129/SR 247), approximately 6.5 Miles. The existing right-of-way varies from 100 to 180 feet wide. The proposed right-of-way/easement width would range between 120 and 220 feet. Area of Potential Effect: The APE for the project includes everything within the proposed construction project length and within the maximum extent of the existing and required right-of-way as described above.
