The present report summarizes a cultural resource survey of 28.70 acres of land scheduled for land for land exchange during fiscal year 1978. The property is accessible from Tritt's store, Suches, south via Forest Service Road 42-1 approximately .6 miles, and may be identified by red government markers adjacent to the road at this point. Prior to the survey, relevant property deeds, records of land transactions, available archeological site files and listings on the National Register of Historic places were interrogated.' The land was purchased from the Cobb and Smith Lumber Company in 1920. However, the search failed to yield any information pertaining to cultural resources on or adjacent to the project area.
