Abstract

This project consisted of the emergency rebuilding of flood damaged side slopes and a wingwall associated with the box culvert that conveys an unnamed tributary of Beaver Creek beneath South Burnt Hickory Road (Figure 1). Specifically, the project rebuilt a washed out slope behind the northwest wingwall and covered it with rip rap, installed a new northeast wingwall which had been broken off from the box culvert and displaced, and rebuilt the washed out slope behind the broken wingwall. In addition, rip rap was installed at the eastern outlet of the culvert (Figure 2). All work on this project was completed on March 19, 2010 and it took place within the existing 80-foot right-of-way.
