The current plan is to shift the alignment of Barton Chapel Road about 490 ft to the east on Wrightsboro Road, so that it aligns with Augusta West Parkway. The realignment begins on Barton Chapel Road about 1250 ft south of Wrightsboro Road. From there, the realignment loops to the east behind some existing residential structures, then angles north through a commercial lot and an asphalt parking lot of a Ford dealership. The realignment terminates at Wrightsboro Road opposite the existing Augusta West Parkway. The new right-of-way along Barton Chapel Road would vary between 80 and 100 ft wide with a construction easement that varies 20 to 35 ft wide along each side. Total length of the new alignment is about 1,700 ft.
