Abstract

On 8 October 1996 Dave Davis of this office carried out an archaeological assessment of two rockshelters within the property owned by Inner Harbour Hospitals, Rockmart Georgia. He was assisted in locating the project areas by Mr. Steve Craw, Science Teacher, for the facility. The purpose of the assessment was to identify prehistoric resources within the property and understand the significance of such resources. No other archaeological sites were visited during the assessment although the potential for more is present. In fact, four identified rockshelters have been identified within three thousand meters of the project area. A presentation regarding archaeological resources and the importance of their preservation was given to staff members and students later that same day.
