Abstract

This project includes improvements to the intersection of SR 10/Freedom Parkway and CS 520/Boulevard. As part of the project, the existing grass median on the west of SR 10/Freedom Parkway will be graded and paved, creating a flush median that will be utilized as an additional left turn lane from eastbound SR 10/Freedom Parkway to northbound Boulevard. The existing grassed median is approximately 600' in length and the new left turn bay will be 500' in length. An exclusive 250' right turn lane will also be added on eastbound SR 10 to southbound Boulevard. A raised concrete island will be added to the northwest corner of the intersection; this island will create a pedestrian bridge that mirrors the existing raised island in the southwest corner of the intersection. The existing traffic signal will be upgraded to accommodate this new configuration. The project limits should not extend more than 800ft. from the center of the intersection for the SR 10 eastbound approach and 150ft. for all other approaches. No additional right-of-way (ROW) is required.
