During the week of September 14, 1998, Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted background research and a field reconnaissance on the block in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, where the Atlanta Police Headquarters is located.

Project F- 111- 1(20) Chatham County: Construction of Interchange at Abercorn Street/State Route 204 and Southwest Bypass. The subject project consists of the construction of an interchange at the Abercorn Street/State Route 204 and the Southwest Bypass.

The subject project consists of the widening and reconstruction of U.S. 17 from north of State Route 204 / Abercorn Street Extension to south of Dean Forest Road, a distance of 3.4 miles. The existing road has a rural section with 24' of pavement and variable width shoulders.

This transportation project has been surveyed for historic resources in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto.
