Archaeological investigations of seven mill sites in Elbert County, Georgia and Abbeville County, South Carolina were undertaken as part of cultural resources investigations associated with the construction of Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake on the Savannah River.

In March to May 2019, Environmental Services, Inc., (ESI) conducted a cultural resource assessment survey at the Jaycee Landing project, in Wayne County, Georgia (Figure 1.1).
