In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, the project has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Georgia DOT Project # BRO-LB-115(1) is an in-place bridge replacement project at Local Road 322 over Silver Creek in Floyd County, District 6. Because the project is in place, no new areas will be impacted.

The proposed project is to be the widening of the existing two-lane bridge over the Central of Georgia Railroad in Whitesburg on S.R. 16 (U.S. 27 Alt.). The existing bridge is 105' long and 32' wide with a roadway width of 24'.

Georgia DOT Project # BRO-0087(2) is an in-place bridge replacement project at Mill Road at Big Slough Creek in Decatur county, District 4. Because the project is in place, no new areas will be impacted. Only those areas which have been disturbed by previous bridge construction will be affected.

The survey entailed examination of relevant survey reports, project plans, maps, and site files, and a pedestrian (walk­through) survey of the entire project, occasionally complemented by periodic placement of subsurface tests where needed.

Georgia DOT Project # BRF-191-1(2) is an in place bridge replacement project at SR 282 at Mountain town Creek in Gilmer county, district 6. Because the pro in place, no new areas will be impacted. Only those areas which have been disturbed by previous bridge construction will be affected.

Georgia DOT Project # BHF-055-1(24) is an in-place bridge replacement project at Hudson River and Grove Creek at US 441/SR 15 in Banks County, District 1. Because the project is in place, no new areas will be impacted.

Georgia DOT Project # BHS-2893-1 is an in-place bridge replacement project at SR 19 and the Hudson River in Banks County, District 1. Because the project is in place, no new areas will be impacted. Only those areas which have been disturbed by previous bridge construction will be affected.

Georgia DOT Project # F-031-1(7) is an in place bridge replacement project at US 82 at Little Ichowaynochway Creek in Randolph County, District 4. Because the project is in place, no new areas will be impacted.
