Report Abstracts

The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences manages the University's Attapulgus Research and Educational Center (AREC) just north of the town of Attapulgus in southern Decatur County, about 4 miles north of the Florida state line.

In mid-July of 2008 a Phase I archeological survey was conducted along a 3 .5 mile section of the South Loop transmission line, located just south of Macon in Bibb County, Georgia. This is an existing line that was constructed during the late 1960s.

On April 1, 2014 Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) conducted a Phase I archeological survey of a wooded and grassy, triangular-shaped tract of land about 3 km (2 mi) east of McDonough, in Henry County (Figure 1 ).

With this letter we wish to report on the results of our Phase I archeological survey of the area of potential effect (APE) for a proposed section of paved hiking trail and related amenities located near the Tugaloo River in eastern Stephens County.

Pursuant to an agreement between Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) and the Georgia State Historic Preservation Office reached in a meeting on October 5, 2010, we conducted monitoring of prehistoric archeological site 9HY 4 71 in eastern Henry County last week.

The Palmour-Russell-McClure Plantation is located on Russell Creek near the Etowah River in southeastern Dawson County, about 5 miles southeast of Dawsonville.

The survey described here was designed to locate and evaluate archeological sites in the area of a Jackson County housing development proposed by Affordable Housing Solutions, Inc.

From April 21 through April 23, 2015, Southeastern Archaeological Services, Inc. (SAS) archaeologically surveyed two alternative routes for a proposed transmission line corridor across private land south of Corps of Engineers land at Carters Lake.

This report presents the results of an intensive archaeological survey conducted by Southeastern Archaeological Services, Inc.
