Abstract

In summary, the proposed Park and Ride facility will be located almost entirely within the footprint of a decommissioned sewage treatment plant. The construction of the sewage treatment plant involved massive cutting and filling which resulted in the removal and dispersal of artifact bearing strata that might have existed prior to its construction. Six shovel tests were excavated to confirm the disturbed nature of the soils on the site. Archival research showed no evidence of historic occupation of the tract from 1927-1962, 1962 being the year when the sewage treatment plant was constructed. Therefore, we recommend that the Park and Ride facility will not impact any cultural resources.
