The proposed projects would relocate the existing S.R. 53 Connector in Gainesville. As proposed the projects would begin at the intersection of S.R. 13 and S.R. 60 then would extend westerly along new location tying into West Washington Street approximately 1000 feet east of the West Bypass intersection. In addition, West Washington Street would be reconstructed and widened from the proposed S.R. 53 Connector intersection west to the West Bypass. As part of the proposed project a silt retention pond would be constructed on 3.91 acres of Corps of Engineers property located north of S.R. 53 and east of the West Bypass.
