Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRS-2063(2), Meriwether County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

The bridge over the S.C.L. Railroad on S.R. 222 will be replaced. The project will begin 750 feet west of the R.R. and will terminate at the intersection of S.R. 222 and S.R. 85E. The proposed centerline will place the new bridge approximately 100 feet north of the existing structure. A 100 foot corridor is required for the project length.
