Abstract

Archeological Assessment of the Franklin/Hart Counties Resurfacing Project. This proposed project is 2.4 miles in length beginning just south of SR 17 (MP 0.0) in Hart County and ending just north of SR 17 (MP 1.7) in Franklin County on SR 17 Bu. The project consists of milling and inlay. No additional right-of-way is required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.J6(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
