Archaeological Survey, RS-953(9), Effingham County: In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 the above project in Effingham County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those which may be eligible for inclusion to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). A windshield survey of the entire project area was conducted, as well as a surface inspection of the area around Sweigoffer Creek. It was noted that the project's location does not include areas of high site probability (i.e., floodplain, undisturbed up-lands). In the opinion of the GDOT staff archaeologist the project will have no effect upon any archaeological site on or eligible to the NRHP.
