Georgia DOT Project # BHF-019-1(7), is an in place bridge replacement project at SR 140 and the Oostanaula River in Floyd County (District 6). Because the project is in place, no new areas will be impacted. Only those areas which have been disturbed by previous bridge construction will be affected. For this reason, no archaeological field inspection is necessary and the archaeological resources of the state will not be affected. Project BHF-019-1(7) proposed to widen the existing bridge on SR 140 over the Oostanaula River. Since the project consists entirely of widening and will not require additional rights-of-way, we request a determination be made as to the possible effects on archaeological resources. The bridge is not on the historic bridge inventory list.
