Abstract

I was pleased to learn that the Grady County report had passed SHPO review with minimal comments. Garrow & Associates, Inc. will provide curation for the project materials from that project until such time as a permanent repository for DNR archaeological project materials can be determined. Once a repository is identified, we will transport the Grady County materials to the identified institution at no charge to the state.

The bottomland forest habitat associated with the Black Creek site (Figure 1) is indicated in Figure 2. The area is a small stream system in the Tifton Upland. There are no representative Carolina bays or limesinks along this portion of Black Creek. Areas of greatest vegetation similarity would occur within the Tifton Upland of the Gulf Coastal Plain.
