During the preceding month 90 percent of the archaeological monitor's time was spent in on-site monitoring of MARTA construction. Historical research and report preparation comprised approximately 10 percent of her time.
The following is a brief area-by-area description of MARTA construction during the past month, and of any archaeological features uncovered during excavation. Maps of the project areas have been included for locational reference. Recommendations for each area have been included in a separate section. All archaeological features were recorded on feature forms and photographed. Those containing artifacts were sampled. A detailed description of the latter, along with statements of their significance may be found in Appendix A of this report.
