Abstract

The projects propose to widen SR 92/Dallas Acworth Highway (Hwy) from Old Burnt Hickory Road (Rd) to US 41/SR 3/Cobb Parkway (Pkwy) from two lanes to a divided four-lane facility with one 11-foot (ft) {3.4 meters [ml) and one 12-ft (3. 7-m) lane in each direction, 20-ft (6-m) raised-concrete medians, 12-ft (3. 7-m) shoulder with a 5-ft (1.5-m) sidewalk, and a 20-ft (6-m) shoulder with a 10-ft (3-m) sidewalk. The total project length is approximately 4 miles (mi) (6.4 kilometers [km]). SR 92/ Dallas Acworth Hwy is a two-lane corridor with rural shoulders. The existing Right-of-Way (ROW) of the corridor varies from 100 to 135 ft (30 to 41 m). The proposed ROW would expand to 150 to 175 ft (45. 7 to 53.3 m) with the addition of medians and turn lanes. Small areas of temporary and/or permanent easements are proposed but all other work would take place within the existing ROW. The total disturbed acreage is 50.17 acres.
