Abstract

In accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Low Impact Bridge Program (LIBP), a potential bridge replacement has been identified along County Road (CR) 35/Old Waynesboro Road, located in Burke County, Georgia (Figure 1). The existing CR 35/Old Waynesboro Road bridge (Bridge ID# 033-5005-0) was constructed in 1971 and spans a segment of McBean Creek. As a candidate under the LIBP, the bridge will require minimal permits, no new right-of-way (ROW), minor utility impacts, no Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) coordination, no on-site detour, minimal easements, and is expected to be replaced on the current alignment. The current ROW measures approximately 50 feet (ft) (15.24 meters [m]) from the centerline of CR 35/Old Waynesboro Road for a total ROW width of 100 ft (30.48 m).
