Abstract

This project proposes to change the original project design as follows: 1. Re-design the left side ditch from Station 28+30 to 224+00 to minimize impacts to GPC transmission lines and reduce the right-of-way requirements on the left side. 2. Revise cross drains to be completely replaced, rather than retaining and extending existing cross drains. 3. Eliminate sediment basin located at Station 114+00 to 117+00 right. 4. Eliminate sediment basin located at Station 120+00 to 122+00 right. 5. Fix wetland boundaries to not be in conflict with pavement & driveways. 6. Revise intersection of mainline and Joey Williamson Road (Sta. 224+91). 7. Add street intersections at Carolyn St. (Sta. 238+81), Pearl St. (Sta. 241+36), and Liberty Road (Sta.252+76). 8. Revise various driveway layouts. Only #7 proposes to increase the required right-of-way beyond what has already been surveyed. This additional area is needed to accommodate project implementation. An archeological survey (Level II) was conducted in accordance with "GDOT/FHWA Cultural Resource Survey Guidelines" developed by the GDOT Staff Archeologists in consultation with DNR Historic Preservation Division Staff and concurred in by the Federal Highway Administration and State Historic Preservation Officer. These guidelines provide general survey boundaries and methodological approaches to archeological surveys based on the type/scope of work of proposed highway projects and are followed during the initial identification of archaeological resources.
