On April 6, 1982, a Cultural Resource Survey was conducted over a 1.4 mile roadway and an adjacent 167 acres on Chestnut Mountain in southwestern Whitfield County, Georgia. The roadway will be impacted by proposed U.S. Forest Service Road 212-A Extension. A prehistoric site was located 125 meters east of the proposed road extension centerline. This site will not be affected by construction activities confined to the existing road boundaries.
