Report Number

Abstract

Eleven parcels of U.S. Forest Service land bordering TVA Nottely Lake (Figure 1) are scheduled for exchange, necessitating a cultural resource survey. The survey was conducted between August 24 and August 30, 1977 with 15 man-days expended by the author, Terry A. Ferguson, and Kent A. Schneider. Two archaeological occurrences were located, one each on Tracts 13 and 16. Other cultural resources were located; however, these were adjacent to Forest Service lands on property retained by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The location and additional data on one of these sites are presented in this report for the record.
