Abstract

This report describes a cultural resource survey conducted by the author on 3,045 acres in Chattooga County, Georgia. Field reconnaissance and subsurface testing located seven prehistoric sites which are considered potentially eligible for nomination to the National Register. It is recommended that these sites are excluded from timber sales, road construction, and land exchange until further investigations are conducted to determine cultural significance and National Register eligibility. The remaining acreage is cleared from impact to cultural resources.
