Abstract

This plan provides for the redesign and/or widening of I-75 and 1-85 from 14th Street on the south to Northside -Drive along I-75 on the north and from Brookwood Interchange (south) along 1-85 to North Druid Hills (north). The proposed plan provides for two separate roadway facilities between Brookwood Interchange and Lenox Road (I-8.5 corridor). The basic concept of this plan is to provide a continuous route from the Spring Street/West Peachtree street One-Way Pair from the Pershing Point. area to Buford Highway/Marian Road area at Lenox Road. In the development of this plan, the existing freeway is retained from Peachtree Street to Lindbergh Drive with new construction on each end to tie the existing freeway to Marian Road on the north and to Spring Street-West Peachtree Street on the south. The new freeway. (I-85) is located adjacent to the existing freeway but on new alignment from Brookwood Interchange to Lenox. Road. Brookwood Interchange is redesigned in the same general configuration as the existing with the exception of interchanges with Peachtree Road, which is eliminated and the addition of A ramp from 1-85 southbound to Techwood Drive. The length of this project from 14th Street to North Druid Hills Road is 5.0 miles.
