Abstract

In March, 1999, New South Associates, Inc. conducted an archaeological survey of approximately 100 acres of a 150 acre site in Polk County, Georgia. The remaining 50 (divided between the area north of Sewell Creek Road and south of a tributary of Lime Branch were not surveyed, as they will not be developed. One site (9P077) and two isolated finds (9P075 and 9P076) were recorded during the survey. Site 9P077 consists of a possible moonshining site, while the isolated finds contain undiagnostic lithic tool, with one also containing a historic ceramic. All of these resources are recommended as not eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
