Abstract

The intersection of SR 92/Campbellton Fairburn Road and SR 14/South Fulton Parkway is located in Southwest Fulton County. The project proposes to widen the west side of SR 92/Campbellton Fairburn Road from approximately 600 feet south of the SR 14/South Fulton Parkway intersection and approximately 900 feet north of the SR 14/South Fulton Parkway intersection. The proposed improvements on SR 92 southbound include the installment of a 12-foot right turn lane approximately 300 feet in length, an addition of a 10-foot shoulder (2 feet unpaved, 6 feet paved) along the west side of the roadway, the installment of a second 12-foot left turn lane approximately 300 feet in length, the installment of a 4-foot raised median approximately 175 feet in length, and the addition of rural side ditches. The storage for left and right turning vehicles would be increased by 250 feet. The existing right-of way (ROW) is approximately 75 feet from both sides of the centerline (totaling to 150 feet). The approximate required ROW is 50 feet west of the existing ROW on the west side of SR 92/Campbellton Fairburn Road. The proposed project will include curb cuts. The project proposes the installment of pedestrian ramps within existing ROW at each quadrant of the SR 92/Campbellton Fairburn Road and SR 14/South Fulton Parkway intersection. The proposed work on SR 14/South Fulton Parkway is limited to the installment of the pedestrian ramps and the tie-ins off of the 10-foot shoulder. The construction limits on the north and south side of SR 14/South Fulton Parkway would extend approximately 80 feet from the existing edge of pavement.
