Abstract

The proposed project involves the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of SR 105/US 441 and US 23/SR 15 southbound ramps (Figures 1 and 2}. The proposed project begins approximately at milepost (MP) 4.15 and ends approximately at MP 4.0 with construction limits extending approximately 175 feet on the southbound ramps from the centerline of US 23/SR 15 (Figure 3}. The total length of the project is approximately 0.15 mile. All proposed work will be within existing right-of-way (ROW) which is approximately 75 feet from both sides of the centerline. The proposed project includes four (4) Type IV strain poles which will be located at the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast quadrants respectively. Raised concrete pedestrian islands will be located in the southwest and southeast quadrants. The proposed project also includes installation of saw cut loop detectors, a signal cabinet placed in the southwest quadrant, pull box installation, and fiber optic cable placement along the south side of US 23/SR 15 beginning west of J Warren Road and ending just west of SR 105/US 441. Additionally the proposed project includes a total of eight {8} accessible curb cut {wheelchair) ramps in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These include two (2) Type A curb ramps which will be located on the southwest quadrant island, three {3} on the southeast quadrant island, and one (1) in the northeast quadrant. One {1) Type B curb ramp will be located in the southwest quadrant and one (1) in the southeast quadrant.
