Abstract

The proposed project would replace the existing bridge on SR 19 at the CSX Railroad 2.8 miles southeast of Dry Branch (Figures 1-2) due to a low sufficiency rating of 45.06. The original project length was approximately 3,050 feet from Station Number (Sta.) 8+50 to Sta. 39+00. A recent change to the project increased the project limits by 50 feet to the west (to Sta. 8+00) and 765 feet to the east (to Sta. 46+65) for a new total project length of 3,865 feet. The proposed approach roadway typical section is two lanes, approximately 12 feet wide with 10 feet shoulders, two feet of which are paved. The proposed bridge typical section has not yet been determined. The new bridge will be constructed on a new alignment south of the existing bridge. Existing right-of-way (ROW) along SR 19 is 100 feet. Proposed ROW varies from 0 to 150 feet.
