Planning: The study corridor was drawn on the county map as well as the Ludville and Jasper Quad sheets. Salacoa and Rock Creeks were the only initial areas of concern. The G.S.U. Archaeological Site Files listed only some Wauchope sites near Long Swamp Creek.
Field Work: With a few exceptions, the study corridor is under mixed hardwood and pine forest. The floodplain on the eastern side of Salacoa Creek was examined by foot. It was under cultivation and produced no evidence of archaeological sites. Rock Creek was indicated on the topo sheet to have a floodplain but upon examination proved to be deeply cut and very narrow in that area.
