Abstract

The proposed project consists of upgrading the existing traffic signal installations at five intersections in Washington County and within the city limits of Sandersville and Tennille. Upgrades vary at these intersections and could include the replacement of the existing signal poles as well as the installation of conduits, cabinets, and pedestrian accommodations. The intersections are as follows: 1. SR 15 at Adams Street 2. SR 15 at McCarty Street 3. SR 15 at SR24/Fall Line Freeway 4. SR 24/Fall Line Freeway at Linton Road 5. SR 24/Fall Line Freeway at Deepstep Road

The APE consists of the maximum length and width of the existing and proposed right-of-way (ROW) for each intersection. An additional100 foot expanded survey corridor (ESC) was also surveyed. For intersections 3-5 on SR 24/Fall Line Freeway, all work will take place within the existing ROW. For intersections 1 and 2, minor amounts of additional ROW will be required. The existing ROW at SR 15 at Adams Street varies from 5-15 feet from the edge of pavement. The existing ROW at SR 15 at McCarty Street varies from 5-25 feet from the edge of pavement. The required ROW for both intersection 1 and 2 would not exceed 20 feet from the existing ROW.

By agreement, because no archaeological resources were located within the project’s area of potential effect, no signed concurrence from the State Historic Preservation Office is required.
