Abstract

The proposed project is a bridge replacement on State Route (SR) 90 over the CSX Railroad about 8 miles southeast of the City of Ideal. The project begins approximately 2,405 feet southeast and ends approximately 2,935 feet northwest of the proposed bridge for a total project length of approximately 5,340 feet (1.0 mile).

The proposed bridge would be constructed approximately 75 feet, centerline to centerline, southeast of the existing bridge. During construction, traffic would be maintained on the existing SR 90 alignment. Upon completion of the new bridge, traffic would be moved to the new bridge and the existing bridge would be removed.

The existing SR 90 consists of two 12-foot travel lanes with 4-foot to 6-foot grassed shoulders within variable ROW between 100 feet and 230 feet in width. The posted speed limit is 55 mph. The proposed SR 90 typical section would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 8-foot shoulders (2 feet paved and 6 feet grassed). Additional ROW up to approximately 122 feet in width would be required on the south side of SR 90. Additional ROW up to approximately 25 feet would be required on the north side of SR 90 within 235 feet of the eastern terminus and within 240 feet of the western terminus. The maximum total ROW width would be approximately 305 feet. Easements for fence reconstruction of approximately 5 feet in width would also be required on both sides of SR 90. Temporary driveway easements a maximum of 93 feet in width would be required on the south side of SR90, and temporary driveway easements a maximum of 12 feet in width would*be required on the north side of SR 90. Approximately 0.66 acre of temporary easement would be required from within the railroad ROW for construction and removal of the bridges.
