Abstract

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) plans to widen the Wrightsboro Road/ SR 388 corridor to accommodate three lanes for approximately 4,500 feet (1372 m) along Wrightsboro Road between SR 388/Lewiston Road and SR 223/Robinson Avenue northeast of Grovetown, Georgia. Sections of five intersecting roads along the corridor were surveyed for 500 feet (152 m) in each direction, which added approximately 4,000 feet (1219 m) to the survey area.  Additionally, eight potential MS4 Water Quality Basins were surveyed, seven of which lie within the APE/ESC and one that lay northeast approximately 50 feet (15 m).  The proposed improvements would improve the level of service of Wrightsboro Road through the use of facilities that support increased motor vehicle capacity and manage access to and from the corridor.  The road improvement plans will also incorporate measures to safely support pedestrians and bicyclists along the corridor.
