Sandy Springs - SR 9 Sidewalks Improvements Project

Report Number
9144
Year of Publication
2015
Abstract

The project consists of a 0.7 mile (1.1 km) section of Roswell Road (State Route 9) between Long Island Drive and Meadowbrook Drive NE. The proposed project would consist of the construction and updating of sidewalk and sidewalk ramps along both sides of Roswell Road (State Road 9) to meet current City of Sandy Springs overlay district standards. This includes filling in gaps between existing sidewalks and the improvement of all sidewalk ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The project corridor was originally surveyed for cultural resources by R.S. Webb and Associates in 2004, from the Atlanta City limits to 1-285. However, since that time the project has been redesigned. The existing right-of-way is between 66 ft (20.1 m) and 67 ft (20.4 m).Proposed right-of-way is 80ft (24.3 m) (see attached project map).
