Abstract

The proposed improvements will construct 9-foot multi-use paths, including a 4 foot bicycle lane and a 5 foot pedestrian sidewalk, and a 6 foot tree-planting zone along Donald Lee Hollowell (Hollowell) Parkway. The project would also add pedestrian/street lighting and trees along Hollowell Parkway from West Lake Avenue/Florence Place to Proctor Creek west of Gary Avenue. The intersections of West Lake/Florence Place, Chappell Road, and Elbridge Drive would be realigned to align through movements across Hollowell Parkway, which would eliminate existing conflicting lane alignments. The project would also add a dedicated left turn lane on Chappell Road, add dedicated left turn lanes with adequate storage along Hollowell Parkway, add a dedicated right turn lane to westbound Hollowell Parkway, and improve the right turn radius on southbound Dobbs Street. The project would level and overlay the existing pavement on Hollowell Parkway. The corridor would maintain the existing 35 mph design speed. The approximate length of the project is .75 miles and is located within the City of Atlanta and Fulton County.

The total amount of existing and proposed ROW includes a total of 4.01 acres.
