The project area was surveyed by a simple visual inspection. The project area is urban with residential and commercial properties on the west side of Virginia Avenue and predominantly commercial property on the east side.
The existing right-of-way is 50 feet wide on either side. If the maximum new right-of-way, as described in Alternate B above, is required, 34 additional feet on each side will be impacted. This additional 34 feet is totally disturbed at present by structures, parking lots, culverts, sidewalks, utility facilities, etc. Much of the required additional right-of-way is paved. No undisturbed areas were observed within 34 feet of Virginia Avenue. No subsurface testing was indicated.
