The proposed project would construct a central turn lane along SR 9/Main Street between Winthrope Park Drive and Winthrope Chase Drive in the City of Alpharetta, Georgia (see Figure 1: Project Location Map). The central turn lane would be constructed within the existing southeastern travel lane, and the southeastern travel lane would be shifted to the existing right-turn lane that runs along the corridor, except for a 300-foot section at the southern edge of the proposed project where the roadway would be widened within the existing right-of-way (ROW) to accommodate the reconfigured travel lane. In addition, the proposed project would construct improved curb-and-gutter and 5-foot concrete sidewalks along both sides of the roadway. The project would be constructed within the existing 100 foot right-of-way. The proposed project length is 0.25 miles.
