Abstract

SR 400 consists of four, 12-foot wide lanes (two in each direction) with variable width (64-foot to 40-foot) depressed, grassed median, 12-foot wide left-turn auxiliary lanes, and a mix of rural and urban shoulders. SR 53 consists of one, 12-foot wide lane In each direction including a left turn and right-turn lane at the Intersection with SR 400. The existing right-of-way widths are 360 feet along SR 400 and 60-200 feet alo11g SR 53.

The proposed project will convert the existing SR 400 and SR 53 Intersection to a two-legged Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) on SR 400. A CFIIs an at-grade Intersection that moves the left turning vehicles out of the main intersection (See attached document "lnterdepartment Correspondenceā€).
