The proposed project is located at the SR 81 and SR 1421ntersection in Newton County. The project would relocate the intersection tie-in approximately 250 feet south of the existing location to address safety concerns. The intersection would be reconstructed to align the north leg of SR 81 with the east leg of SR 142. The south leg of SR 81 would form a stop-sign-controlled T -intersection with the realigned SR 142. The only tum lane proposed would be a right tum lane for the north bound SR 81 movement to continue onto SR 142. The intersection would have a right-of-way width of 80-100 feet. The length of the project is approximately 0.5 miles, including SR 81and SR 142.
