Abstract

The proposed project would take place at the intersection of Twin Cedars Road and State Route (SR) 1/US 27 (Figure 1). The existing typical section consists of stop control on Twin Cedars Road and uninterrupted flow along SR 1/US 27. SR 1/US 27 consists of four 12 foot lanes, one 12 foot left turn lane, and one 5-foot paved shoulder. Twin Cedars Road has two 12 foot lanes and no shoulders. There is approximately 130 feet of existing right of way (ROW) along SR 1/US 27, and approximately 50 foot of existing ROW along Twin Cedars Road.

The project proposes to add a stop and go traffic signal to the intersection of SR 1/US 27 and Twin Cedars Road. Right turn lanes will be constructed on SR 1/US 27, and left turn lanes will be constructed on Twin Cedars Road. The total ROW width (existing and required) will be approximately 150 feet along SR 1/US 27, and approximately 70 feet along Twin Cedars Road.
