The proposed project consists of safety and intersection improvements of SR 47 at SR 223. The original approved concept proposed SR 47 and SR 223 be widened by 6-ft symmetrically at all approaches to provide left-tum lanes with an additional 12-ft to provide for auxiliary right-tum lanes. The proposed project has been changed to a roundabout, which would provide more safety advances than a stop and go traffic signal. The proposed project length has been shortened from 0.52 mile to 0.32 mile. A small amount of additional right-of-way will be required at the intersection, but not along the advances.
