Abstract

On August 30, 200 Southeastern Archeological Services conducted a Phase I intensive cultural resources survey for the replacement of the SR 135 bridge over Pudding Creek. The survey area included an arcing corridor 944.9m (3100 ft) long (centered on the existing bridge) extending a maximum of 15 m west of the existing right-of-way. Recent changes to the plan for replacing this bridge have necessitated this letter addendum to Southeastern Archeological Services’ original report.

The most recently approved project proposed replacement of the existing bridge with a bridge 44 feet wide that would accommodate two 12-foot wide travel lanes and 10-foot wide shoulders. The bridge would be constructed on a new location immediately west of the existing crossing. The new bridge would be approximately 120 feet long. The proposed temporary detour route would use the existing bridge on State Route 135 during the construction phase of this bridge replacement project. An additional 50 feet of right-of-way would be required.
