Abstract

GDOT Project CSSTP-0007-00[414], PI No. 0007414 would improve Colerain Road from approximately 2,300 feet west of the 1-95 interchange to 1,000 feet east of Kings Bay Road, which includes widening the existing two-lane roadway to provide a four-lane divided highway with 20- foot raised median and auxiliary lanes at major intersections. The improved section of Colerain Road from 2,300 feet west of I-95 to Winding Road would have urban shoulders with curb and gutter and a ten-foot multi-use path on the north (left) side and a five-foot sidewalk on the south (right) side of the roadway. The improved section of Colerain Road from Winding Road to 1,000 feet east of Kings Bay Road would have ten-foot rural shoulders, a six and half foot paved bike lane, and three and 0.5 feet of grass. The total gross length of the project would be approximately 5.83 miles.

The I-95 interchange at Colerain Road would remain a diamond interchange. The southbound offramp would be widened to provide two (2) 12-foot left tum lanes and a 12-foot right-tum lane at the approaches to Colerain Road. The existing two-Jane 272-foot long four-span bridge over I-95 would be replaced with a new four-span bridge approximately 293 feet long by approximately 97 feet wide. The northbound off-ramp would be widened to provide a 12-foot left-turn lane and a 12-foot right- tum lane at the approaches to Colerain Road. Construction easements would be provided for drainage slope grading. Construction easements west ofl-95 vary between 30 and 40 feet. Construction easements east of the 1-95 and Colerain Road interchange between 1-95 and Kings Bay Road vary between 20 and 80 feet.
