Abstract

Rights-of-way for the above proposed project have been previously cleared for archaeology under project F-093-1(4) in 1976 (see attached letter). The present project will widen and reconstruct S.R. 35/ U.S. 319 (Moultrie Bypass) from S. R. 133 south of Moultrie to S.R. 133 north of Moultrie. The project will add two additional lanes to the existing two lanes and a grassed median. The project is 7.1 miles long and will be constructed within the previously surveyed existing right-of-way. Based on the fact that the rights-of-way were previously surveyed and grubbing, clearing, grading and construction has since greatly disturbed the area, it is the opinion of our Staff Archaeologist that no significant archaeological resources will be affected by project FR-090-1(30-31).
