Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments, thereto, project FR-178-1(28), Douglas County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify, and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. This project proposes to construct turn and free flow lanes and a median on SR 6/ Thornton Road. All work is to take place within existing right-of-way. The project, which runs from I-20 to US 78, is approximately 2.4 miles long. A survey was conducted of the entire corridor.
