Abstract

History Assessment of Project SR-1375(5), Cherokee County: Widening of Bell's Ferry Road from Southfork Way to N. Victoria Road, Including Two Design Alternatives for the Roadway Section Between Victoria Station and Wyngate Parkway; the proposed project consists of the widening of Bell's Ferry Road from Southfork Way to N. Victoria Road, a distance of approximately 2.9 miles. The proposed typical section will be four 12- foot lanes with a 20-foot raised median. Two design alternatives are proposed for the roadway section between Victoria Station and Wyngate Parkway. Alternate A would be all new location to the west of existing alignment. Alternative B would primarily utilize the existing alignment of Bell's Ferry Road but would have a short segment on new location to flatten roadway curvature. A building within the project's area of potential environmental effect appears on the Cherokee County DNR survey map. Due to the structures low integrity it did not receive a survey number and was not noted as an eligible resource. Photographs of the residence are attached. No resources eligible or potentially eligible were identified during the field survey.
