Please advise the GDOT Archaeologist as to whether these projects will be on new or existing alignment. Plan and profile sheets should be forwarded to the archaeologist if available. If plan and profile sheets are not available a preliminary location sketch illustrating the new bridge in relation to the existing one is acceptable. A memo to the Archaeology Files is necessary for all projects on existing location stating such. The GDOT Archaeologist will conduct the survey as this information is received and will notify you of the results shortly thereafter. Your assistance in the field may be necessary.
