Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project F-015-1(35), Jenkins Co., has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. Plans indicate the addition of a passing lane, within the existing 100' of right-of-way, beginning at the north end of the Little Buckhead Creek bridge (M.P. 15.52) and extending to M.P.15.99. Plans also indicate the addition of a passing lane, within the existing 100' of right-of-way, beginning at M.P. 18.86 and extending to M.P. 19.32. Both lanes are on U.S. 25 (S.R. 121). Survey indicated no archaeological resources up to 75' either side of the existing centerline.
