Abstract

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-079(1), located in Crawford County. As many of these projects will be in-pl ace replacements of county bridges requiring no new right-of-way, these were cleared of archaeological involvement since the right-of-way had been severely disturbed by past construction activities. Those projects requiring changes in road alignment or additional right-of-way were subjected to archaeological survey methods, including pedestrian (walk-through) survey and sub-surface testing, when necessary. No archaeological sites were encountered. Therefore, there should not be adverse impacts on the State's cultural resources connected with the above projects. The project occurs on Ulcohatchee Creek on Julia Jordan Road (C.R. 96) near Roberta, Georgia. The proposed project will replace the existing 145 foot x 18 foot timber bridge with a 170 foot x 30 foot concrete bridge.
