Project PPL-22(50) located in Hancock county would provide two passing lanes on an existing two-lane section of SR 22 southwest of Sparta. Passing Lane number one would be constructed on the north side of the roadway between MP 9.9 and MP 11.1 and would benefit westbound traffic. Passing lane number two would be constructed on the south side of the roadway between MP 8.5 and MP 9.7 and would benefit eastbound traffic. At both locations the proposed widening would consist of 12 foot of additional paving with 8-foot graded shoulders. This project will require minor involvement with tributaries of Zoie Brown Creek and with Buffalo Creek. However, no significant encroachment would result. The existing right-of-way is 80 feet and for this project there will be an additional 20 feet at both locations.
